What is Uric Acid Assay Kit (Uricase Method)?

The Uric Acid Assay Kit (Uricase Method) is a diagnostic tool used to measure the level of uric acid in a biological sample. Uric acid is a waste product produced by the body when it breaks down purines, which are found in many foods and beverages.
The kit uses the enzyme uricase to catalyze the oxidation of uric acid to allantoin and hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide is then detected by a colorimetric or fluorometric assay, which is proportional to the amount of uric acid present in the sample.
The Uric Acid Assay Kit is commonly used in medical laboratories to diagnose and monitor conditions such as gout, kidney disease, and metabolic disorders. High levels of uric acid can be a sign of these conditions, while low levels can indicate certain types of cancer or liver disease.

Usage
This kit is used to quantitatively detect the content of uric acid in human serum in vitro.
Background of Clinical Indications
It is used for the auxiliary diagnosis of primary gout, leukemia, renal impairment, poisoning and eclampsia, etc. Increase is seen in patients with gout and increased nucleic acid metabolism, such as leukemia, polycythemia vera; For patients with kidney disease, and acute or chronic nephritis, blood uric acid significantly increased. Because extrarenal factors have a greater impact on uric acid, increase in blood uric acid is often not parallel to the degree of renal damage; others: chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, lead poisoning, eclampsia, pregnancy reactions, excessive nucleic acid in the diet, obesity, diabetes, etc.
