Sialic Acid Assay Kit

Choosing the right Sialic Acid Assay Kit is an important decision for researchers in a variety of fields. It is crucial to choose a kit that offers the most accurate results and the best value for your money.
Sample preparation
Several methods have been cited to identify sialic acids in animal tissues. One such method is the improved Warren method. It is based on a thiobarbituric acid reaction and produces a colorimetric product. It is also suitable for quantitative determination of sialic acid.
Another sialic acid-related method is the reversed-phase C18 column. Its standard dimensions are 250 mm long and 4.6 mm in diameter. Its efficacy has been demonstrated in various studies. For example, it is able to separate sialic acid from mixed sialic acid standards. Its cost is not prohibitive. It can be stored for up to twelve months at -20 degC.
A micro-anion exchange column also enables fluorogenic OPD labeling. Its performance is comparable to that of a high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC). This method may be the best way to detect sialic acid, especially in an animal model.
Linearity
Using the Sialic Acid Assay Kit, you can conveniently measure free sialic acid in biological samples. This simple assay provides fluorescent and visible absorption. It is based on an enzyme-coupled reaction, which allows for estimation in the range of micromoles.
This method has two main advantages: fast, and sensitive. The assay kit is able to detect sialic acid in a linear range of 0.1 to 10 nmol. This range is easy to interpret. The color intensity of the reaction product at 570 nm is directly related to the sialic acid concentration in the sample.
The assay kit can be used to measure sialic acid in capillary blood samples. However, it cannot be used to measure sialic acid in microscopic analysis. The assay kit uses an enzyme-coupled reaction.
