About Inorganic Phosphorus Assay Kit

The Inorganic Phosphorus Assay kit is a reagent used to measure the presence of inorganic phosphates. It consists of a phosphate ion detection kit, glucose oxidase, and maltose phosphorylase. Phosphorus ions are found in biological samples in concentrations of 20 to 56%. Molecular Probes, Inc. supplies the assay kit.
A high phosphorus level may be an auxiliary diagnosis of kidney disease, malnutrition, or poor absorption. High levels of phosphorus in the blood can indicate acid-base imbalance. An abnormal phosphorus level is also an indicator of calcium deficiency. This phosphorus level is often ordered when patients present with signs or symptoms of kidney disease, gastrointestinal disorder, or diabetes. A low level of calcium can indicate a condition called De Toni-Fanconi syndrome.
This kit is available for various clinical chemistry analysers. It uses a UV method for the determination of phosphorus in serum. It is highly sensitive and specific. This reagent kit is suitable for the determination of CK-MB biomarkers such as total calcium, intact parathyroid hormone, and ALP. This assay kit is also compatible with a range of clinical chemistry analysers, including the Luminex Luminometer.
The Inorganic Phosphorus Assay is based on a proprietary formulation of malachite green dye. Malachite Green and Ammonium Molybdate form a chromogenic complex with phosphate ions and give an intense absorption band around 650 nm. The test can be performed on biological fluids and inorganic samples. The test size of the kit is 500-mL.
