5 Reagent Assay Kits to Quantify Flavonoids and Polyphenols in Guava Leaf Extract

Nitrite Assay Kit
The Nitrite Reagent Assay Kit provides a convenient method for measuring the concentration of nitrite and nitrate. The kit provides the detection of nitrites, which are derived from the reduction of nitrate by nitrate reductase. This test kit has a detection limit of 100 nM.
The Nitrite Reagent Assay Kit comprises a methyl salicylate solution and at least one sodium hydroxide solution, preferably in the range of 0.1 to 10.0 vol.%, but most preferably 0.5 to 2.0 vol.%. The nitrite-residue is then diluted and the concentration of each ion is determined.
Guava leaf extract
Guava leaf extract is known for its antibacterial, antiplasmodial, and immunomodulatory properties. It also has anti-inflammatory, hypoglycemic, and spasmolytic properties. It is a natural source of flavonoids. This reagent assay kit can measure flavonoids and polyphenols in guava leaf extract.
Guava leaf extract is commonly used for diarrhea treatments and is a traditional medicine against child diarrhea and gastroenteritis. A study has shown that guava leaf extracts have antimicrobial activity against a variety of bacteria that cause diarrhea. The results showed that guava leaf extract inhibits the growth of Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp., and inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandin E(2) and cyclooxygenase-2. This guava leaf extract also inhibited the activation of nuclear factor-kappaB.
 protein assay kit
The protein assay kit is a simple and fast way to quantify protein concentrations. Its sensitivity and linear range are excellent for a wide range of protein concentrations, from 100 to 1500 ug/ml. It can be used with a microplate reader or spectrophotometer.
The reagents used in the  protein assay kit include bovine serum albumin and monoclonal antibodies. A standard solution of 0.125 to 2 mg/ml bovine serum albumin is included in the kit. The reagents should be diluted with nanopure H2O before use.
ELISA
The reagent assay kit is a tool that is used in the testing of chemicals. Traditionally, a spectrophotometric test is used for this purpose. The developed assay kit provides an alternative to this method. It works with the laboratory equipment that a student already has and helps to reduce lab work time. This tool was implemented in six universities in Thailand. Chiang Mai University, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Kasetsart University in Sakon Nakhon Province, Khon Kaen University of Phayao have all adopted the assay kit.
This kit is high-throughput, sensitive, and stable. Its innovative formulation prevents precipitation of the reagent, unlike other commercial assay kits. It provides accurate results in less than 30 minutes. It is compatible with standard laboratory formats, including spectrophotometers and plate readers.
The  Reagent Assay Kit allows for the measurement of the level of 5 cytokines in plasma. The kit comes with de-identified samples and contains all reagents needed to perform the assay. The kit is provided by a vendor selected by the CIC/NIAID. It includes 21 test samples that contain known amounts of these five cytokines in human AB serum matrix.
There are a few limitations with this assay. Its sensitivity is not fully characterized, and some sample types may not respond as well. The Luminex reagent assay kit does not include a negative control, which could influence results. However, the Luminex Reagent Assay Kit is a good choice for many research studies and has been used in clinical trials.
mTRAQ
The mTRAQ Reagent Assay kit is used for the quantification of proteins in biological samples. Its unique multiplexing technology facilitates the measurement of protein concentrations from a large number of samples. The kit uses triplex technology, which increases the sample throughput by more than 100%.
The kit uses a reagent that derivatizes proteins and peptides. The reagents are available from AB Sciex in Foster City, California. The GABA standard has a purity of 99%, and the 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid is 98 percent pure.
